Glancing Back

Someone cleared away the bracken from the old rope swing.
Back then it scratched my shin.
Today I walked down the slope again rolling daisies thin.
I stumbled towards the rooted clover and held the cord abreast.
I breathed out, and it felt good,
Goodness,
Gracious breath.
I coiled around the alter and glanced my way right through,
Rippling in the brightening light
As sweet green dappled sweet blue.
